Panasonic DMR-ES30VS DVD Recorder / VCR Combo

A couple months ago my wife said that I had to do something with the ton of VHS tapes sitting in the garage. Any time I get an opportunity to buy a new toy I jump on it, particularly since my VHS deck had died and my DVD player was not far behind.

Hookup was very easy. While the manual is lengthy, it does make sense. In a short period of time I was burning DVDs from my old VHS tapes. I was originally concerned as some of my tapes were very old and had not been stored in the best condition. (Many were films I taped from Bravo, when Bravo had cultural programs instead of makeover shows.)

Even 25 year old tapes came out great. The VHS unit is very good. The DVDs were clearer then when I earlier watched them on my main VHS deck. While the rewind is very noisy, it is very fast.

As I said before, the manual isn't bad at all. Dubbing from the VHS deck to the DVD recorder is very easy. Just pick the speed wanted and hit a couple of buttons. Even extended play DVDs come out looking good. In the past month I have dubbed 2-3 dozen VHS tapes and they have all come out great. I love this machine and recommend it to everyone.
