What an invention!
Date of Review: Jun 22, 2000
Who would have thought that this small marvel of digital gadget would be sitting in my shirt pocket wherever I go. I received the IIIx as a gift from my wife on my birthday. I was desperately in need of an organizer.
I had all of my Names/Addresses on my PC at work and at home. This organizer introduced me to the concept of HOTSYNC which keeps my data in sync with my home and work pc. At first I was using this like any other organizer. Then I realized it's true potential. It is an evolving digital gadget. There is so much software out there for it, that the sky's the limit. You can download it and install it on the the PALM by the click of a button. Before the PALM, I was debating to buy an IBM Thinkpad but could never find one in my budget. I can sincerely say that I do not miss a LAPTOP because the PALM meets ALL my needs. The battery lasts for more than a month. Did i say they also have games like Asteroids, Submarine, pacman that your kids can play on it exactly like a Nintendo!. You can also surf the WEB and download the Web pages you like onto the PALM. I am not kidding. If you dont believe me, try it out at www.avantgo.com. Ofcourse the newer versions are much better and in color. But I think I am going to stick to IIIx until PALM some day comes out with Trade exchange program where I could exchange my IIIx for a new one at a discount.
Checkout www.handngo.com and www.tucows.com for palm software.Enjoy!.
