I can't believe I didn't know who she was

I just had my first real taste of Nanci Griffith. Three years ago I heard a song on the radio that I fell in love with, but I didn't know who sang it or the title and neither did anyone else. Everyone suggested it might be Emmylou Harris, so I've spent considerable time listening to Emmylou, trying to find that song. Lo and behold - three years later, I'm driving in my car and I hear it again. It's Nanci Griffith and John Prine. Off to my computer I run and tap into Amazon.com playing samples of everything she's sung and I found it!

Other Voices, Other Rooms is a compilation of duets by Nanci and others. Of course the song I love the best is "Running at the Speed of Loneliness", but there are many really pretty songs on this album as well. Nanci has a voice which is reminiscent of old time folk music which I used to hear in coffee houses when I was in college. Her music kind of takes you back to that time of Bob Dylan and Joni Mitchell.

I don't know how I could have missed this artist! Do yourself a favor and try not to miss her as well!
