Try it before you buy it!
Date of Review: Jan 5, 2008
The Bottom Line: You must try this out before buying it- see how the baby likes it- and also be sure your back can take the strain!
If you are an on the go Mom or Dad, have a toddler or other children to run after, or have a fussy infant who needs to be held alot this may be a great product for you- BUT I strongly recommend trying this out before you buy it!
I bought this when my first child was only a couple of weeks old- she was very fussy and cried ALOT day and night- there reached a point where I just could not hold her because I had to take care of things around the house- or I would be out in the market and she would not stay in her car seat or stroller-
I used this when my second child was born and I wanted to take the older sibling to the playground or to a museum and I did not want to have to worry about maneuvering a stroller while following a toddler around-
I used it most recently with my third when I would go walking with my two oldest in the double carriage and I would keep the baby in the Baby Bjorn-
with all three of my children I could only use it a few times because the strain on the back, shoulders and neck gets really bad-
The concept of the carrier is great but I thought it cost alot of money for something that could be used for such a short time-
another thing to mention is that not all babies will like to be held in it- you have to try it on- or perhaps borrow someone's for a day to see how both you and your baby feel while using it
You also have to be really careful when bending down while wearing this- be sure you support the baby's head while bending and also be really careful not to throw out your back- the strain because especially pronounced while bending-
