Product Review

You can't go wrong...

Pros:  Chrystal clear, dependable

Cons:  Controls could be better

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

You simply can't go wrong with Onkyo's TX-SR502. I've owned mine for 8 months and have not experienced any problems or glitches along the way. I've read reviews from some who feel the controls are somewhat hard to use. In truth, the controls aren't easy to use, but like anything, it becomes easy to operate after you've had some time to get used to them. My 5 year old has no problem changing the receiver from television mode to DVD mode when he wants to watch a movie. If a 5 year old can do it....anyone who can read this review will have no problem.

This is my first stand-alone surround sound receiver and I can't see the need to upgrade in the future. The power and sound clarity is far better than I would have ever expected. Compared to the "surround sound in a box" system I had before, this Onkyo and my new speakers are nothing shy of going to the cinema to watch a movie. To be honest, the sound I have now is better than the theater!

For the money, it's got to be one of the best surround receivers on the market.
