Great Juicer for the Price!

The Omega 1000 is one of several juicers I have owned. The Omega 1000 is a good introductory juicer that combines ease of use, ease of cleaning, and maximum juice extraction. The product is slightly more expensive than some of the lower end juicers, but well worth it. Some of the cheaper juicers do not extract as much juice or are simply a pain in the butt to clean. Of course, if you are a very serious juicer, you might look to one of the more professional models that seriously cut down on oxidation or allow for larger quantities of juice prior to cleaning.

This is a great product and comes highly recommended! YOu'll see this juicers in lots of health food stores. For under $200, it should also sit on your kitchen counter.

Facts:

The juicer is simple to operate. You simply throw the little black switch on the side and the internal container (a net-like cylinder that is hidden inside the silver part that you see in the photo) starts spinning.

You basically take cut veggies and insert them in the opening on top of the unit (the maroon colored piece is used to force the veggies down into the chamber).

Vegetables work really well (carrots, peppers, avocado, celery are my faves). Fruits are good too as long as they are not too pulpy (apple and orange work well).

In general, it takes about 2 apples and 20 baby carrots to make a 16oz glass of juice. This is better juice extraction than I have seen with other juicers. Once you have juiced about 32oz of juice, you'll need to clean out some of the pulp that gets left in the internal container. This is a simple task that involves dumping the pulp into a trash can.

The internal container can be removed from the rest of the unit and cleaned in the dishwasher. When you clean this, you'll also need to clean the lid, the maroon colored pusher, the internal container, the blade and the juice resevoir (the silver part that is on the outside). Cleanup by hand takes less than 5 minutes and is pretty easy. The net-like internal container is the toughest because the pulp gets stuck in the holes.
