Ativa Shredder

We bought this shredder a couple of months ago for our home office. We shred lots of documents but not a tremendous amount. This shredder will eat about anything,staples Credit Cards. It won't do CD's. The claim is for eight pages of shredding at once. Eh...that might be for very light types of paper. For 20-24 lb paper like you print on more like 4-5 max. The diamond cut it makes is pretty neat but where they come to a point on a few of the end tends to catch on the basket itself seeing how its a mesh style of basket. So,some will stick when you go to empty but not that many.

My main problem is that in the auto mode we're starting to have trouble with it not wanting to stop after shredding several pages--it runs on and on. I'd like to know if others are having this same problem. I've checked to make sure its not clogged with shreaded bits which it isn't but the problem persists.

My only other gripe and it pertains to most all shredders in this class is that the basket is ALWAYS to small. Come on people,make a larger basket,I'll gladly pay extra for it.

This shredder is now to the point to where it won't stop running without switching it off 95% of the time. Its starting to jam right in the middle of the cutting teeth and the paper won't fall out. This unit is joke,I'll never buy another.
