Great First SUV

I purchased the 2002 Nissan Pathfinder LE about a year ago certified with the Nissan Security+Plus warranty.

The SUV when purchased had about 46,200 miles on the clock. Having had the car for over a year now I would say it is a very nice SUV. Currently has about 57,000.

Walk in to the driver seat and you are welcomed with well laid out controls easy to reach and non-complicated controls. The gauges are large and easy to see day or night. The stereo is powered by Bose and features 6 speakers which provide good quality sound. However if you are into bass I would recommend getting a subwoofer. The heated seats add a nice touch during those cold mornings.

The power from the 3.5l 240 HP is impressive, even with a full load of people it still has lots of power to get you moving. The handling is pretty good for an SUV doesn't feel tipy at all. Unless you push the Pathfinder it is a relatively quiet SUV almost like it's a luxury SUV.

The rear seat room is somewhat small compared to our family's other car a 2001 Mazda MPV but 3 fits just fine as long as they aren't over 6 feet.

Gas mileage around the city of NY will get about 15-16 MPG. Not as bad as a first generation Dodge Durango a Aunt has which only gets about 10-11. On a trip to West Virginia it maintained about 20-21 MPG.

The cargo room is pretty big, enough for most people to fit their goodies.

Overall I find it to be a great first SUV. I highly recommend it, no problems to note of.

I honestly find the 2002 Pathfinder better than that of the current model in that the current model's interior quality seems to have been ignored when it was redesigned.
