Author's Review
Karaoke Revolution Party is a good singing game for one or more players.
Plot
There isn't a big plot in the game, your ultimate goal is to be the best singer that wins the best records.
Gameplay
The game plays just like real-life Karaoke (for the most part at least). You pick a song, and then you sing it.
You can make your own character or choose a preloaded character (similar to The Sims customization in a way) for the game. There is many features to use in this, such as hair color, clothes and so on. This character is who you use for the game. There is several modes to choose from: solo, duet and some mini-games.
In solo and duet modes your goal is to win various records by singing songs. These songs are rock, pop and a few others types. The environment changes depends on how you play, which is interesting. If you do good, the crowd cheers. If you do bad, it rains. Also if you do good, you get power boosts which makes the crowd go wild and gets you more points. The more points you get, the higher the record you get. Record types are gold as the lowest, and diamond as the highest. You can view and keep track of the records you've unlocked.
The only major issue with the game is the backgrounds. While you are trying to read the words, they can be distracting which cause you to mess up. The words are always in white, so if the location is light in color, it's hard to read.
Mini-games feature things such as volleyball and crowd surfing. You need to sing high or low, to control your character. These weren't very fun, and aren't worth playing.
The game includes a microphone, which is required to play the whole game.
Graphics and sound
The graphics look very good. There is different realistic locations such as a beach, top of a building and Las Vegas.
The songs are sung by cover bands, and not the original artists. Even though, they sound pretty close and you usually wont be able to tell it's not the original artist.
Replay value
The game features 50 songs, with many of them locked at the start. So you will be playing a bit to unlock them. You can also unlock new characters and costumes.
