A Good Entry-Level Digital Camera

Date of Review:  Feb 3, 2003
The Bottom Line: A great introduction to digital photography. Good features and easy to use both the camera and software.
Review: While I have owned a number of point-and-shoot cameras, the Coolpix 2000 was my first foray into the world of digital photography. Since this is an entry-level digital camera, I will review it with this audience in mind. If you're not looking for an...

Coolpix 2000 almost everything you might want in an everyday camera

Date of Review:  Dec 12, 2002
The Bottom Line: The Coolpix 2000 good value for the $. Solid features, quality images. Small size and readily replaceable batteries cement the camera as a good general purpose unit.
Review: Power - Batteries and Battery Life:
I've had the Nikon 2000 in my hands for a few days now. I purchased 4 AA rechargeable NiMH batteries to go with it and spent several hours shooting with and without flash and playing with the different modes...

Easy to use camara, a fair deal for the money!

Date of Review:  Feb 6, 2004
The Bottom Line: Great for anyone in your family to use. Kids will have no trouble, nor will the adults!
Review: This was my first digital camera. I did a little research on them before buying, so I would not go into it blindly.
I learned about the differences between digital & optical zoom, and all that jazz. I set out to buy one in my price range. I...

Didn't want to like it, like it anyway!

Date of Review:  Mar 26, 2004
The Bottom Line: Great anytime always-ready carry along digital!
Review: I was shopping for a new digital camera. I already have an excellent Sony that I'm very happy with, but I wanted something that would be more convenient to carry around.

My two major limiting criteria were that it had to have zoom, and it...

Look elsewhere

Date of Review:  Jun 15, 2003
The Bottom Line: Don't buy it. Maybe spend more, or go with another brand I mentioned.
Review: I bought this for my father for Christmas, and it was a poor purchase. The indoor photos are very poor compared to my Canon S30. Even poor compared to my old Kodak. Also, not the best grain from the Nikon. Not overly clear.

Color balance...

Good for first time users

Date of Review:  Jul 12, 2004
The Bottom Line: I do not recommend this camera for experienced digital camera users. It is a very basic camera that is good for first time users.
Review: I brought this camera during the Fourth of July. I got it for a pretty good deal. About 90 bucks and it came with a free memory card. I was really excited because this was my first digital camera I ever had for myself.

Defective

Date of Review:  Dec 27, 2002
The Bottom Line: I'm sure that the two I purchased were defective but they were purchased halfway across the country from one another. I hope that Nikon will recall this product.
Review: I purchased two of these and I returned both of them. The guy at the photo store said they are defective. One was purchased in California and one in Texas. I have not read about a recall yet so maybe there is one to come. It is an extremely easy to...

Great price, better pictures, user friendly

Date of Review:  Nov 29, 2002
The Bottom Line: You can't get a digital that takes these quality pictures at this price. If you can deal with the LCD (no viewfinder) and mostly auto controls, check it out.
Review: Whether you're looking to replace your 35mm or APS point & shoot camera or looking to supplement an SLR, this camera is a good buy. First of all, it's Nikon. The lens is as sharp as can be for a 3x optical camera. Honestly, I've had pictures come...

It's A Snap. (Updated)

Date of Review:  Sep 29, 2002
The Bottom Line: This is a good beginner camera but is also good for those who are on a tight budget.
Review: This is an updated review as I felt that my initial one was not as informative.

I've been using this camera for well over five months now, and I have not encountered any problems with it. This camera has all the standard features expected...

great for beginners!

Date of Review:  Sep 6, 2002
The Bottom Line: For the low price, quality and foolproof features, i certainly feels that i can make do with the short-comings.
Review: This is my very first digital camera and i was really not sure what do i actually want. I went to stores to browse and was pleasantly surprised to be recommended this. This is one of the lowest priced 3X optical zoom with 2Megapixel camera. What's...
