I used to own the older 24-120 on my Nikon 35mms and decided to give this one a shot with my D70s. Took this lens out for about 3 weeks and works well as a travel lens - I also carried a Tamron 11-18 to compensate on the wide side (Using the 24-120 on a digital camera is like using a 36-180 on a 35mm - nice zoom but not wide at all). I find the lens is super well built and high quality construction. I did not notice chromatic aberration across the zoom range but the lens did have a teeny focusing challenge at either end of the zoom range. I use this with a ring adapter to 77mm filters and that interferes with the AF assist light in dark scenes.
