Nascar 99, An excellent Cart Racing Game

Nascar 99 is probably the most played game sitting on my video game shelf. Hours upon hours have been put into this N64 game and loads of fun have come back out.

The Main Ingredient of NASCAR 99 is the simplicity and realism it offers. The simplicity would be the easy controls and friendly step-by-step interface. The controls on the car are as follows : B - Brake A - Accelerate R/L - Change gears if in manual mode. That sounds pretty darn easy. The realism is provided through smart AI and excellent car physics. The AI will draft behind you, rub you, bump you, and take well timed pit stops making you work for the victory.The physics are top-notch in that your car will be harder to steer in high speeds and a bump a certain way will cause you to hit the wall to the grass.

NASCAR 99's graphics are above par with most of its competition. You can tell who's who from 1/2 a mile away. Also the crashes are very detailed too.

One thing that bugged me about NASCAR 99 is how often the caution flag came out. When I turned it on, every other lap there was a caution and it really took away from the whole NASCAR experience. Other than that I can't really find any major flaws in this game and would have to say that NASCAR 99 is a very well crafted and fun game.
