Author's Review
I wanted to orally emit my organs onto the cashier when I realized that I spent $63.91 (sigh...the price is permanently scared into my mind) on a 21 Ft. 1/4" cable. It was like ripping off a sticky band aid. But thankfully the first time plugging in and hearing the sweet, crisp sounds, was like the relief of once the Garfield bandage is off and the endorphin-induced confirmation that fallows, telling me I did the right thing. I adore this cable and I plan on ever buying another 1/4" again. It's worth the money: Perfect sound, no hum, super durable, reduced handling noise, looks great, fudge yes.
The sound of an angel
Our jazz combo was at a wedding, it was my first time using the cable, and we started the set with Sinatra's "Fly Me to The Moon". My Sheraton II guitar sang out of the Fender Deville amp with unusually good clarity. That's because Monster uses a patented technology called Time Correct windings, which help provide extended bandwidth for a dynamic range; the warmth and presence were identically reproduced. In fact, it sounded so good the band asked me if I was using a different amp and when I told them it was because of the cable, everyone bought one.
When it's supposed to be silent, It's silent,
This is the first cable I've owned (and I've owned a lot of cables) where there is no static or hum. It saves my life at wedding gigs because makes us seem more professional when our amps aren't buzzing between songs.
Ultra-quiet Handling Noise
For some songs, I switch to my nylon acoustic-electric. And anyone who has ever plugged or unplugged something into an amp that's on will know the ugly, head-turning, electric zap of a noise I'm talking about. With this cable's multi-twist construction, it tightly winds negative and positive conductors together for superior noise rejection, which results in a super quiet hum that could only be heard in a silent room. Must I explain why this is vital when doing wedding gigs?
Durable
I've taken this everywhere for the last year, unwinding, winding, plugging in, unplugging... It shows no signs of age. Heavy-duty 24k gold contacts with strain relief ensure that the contacts never come become unstable or lose connectivity. I am never going to need to buy a cable 1/4" cable again.
Function Over Fashion, But Even So...
At wedding gigs, the band needs to look classy and professional...even right down to the cables. A black, sleek casing with a classy red Monster logo on the glossy connectors. You can't go wrong.
