When I look for a joystick, I want something that'll play more than space invaders. Then again, I'm also on a limited budget. I can't afford to spend $200 on a joystick-throttle-rudder pedals combo. Thats why the precision pro is so great.
For the average "semi-hardcore flight simmer" the sidewinder is perfect. Its got the throttle, and enough buttons to keep you guessing about what you programmed them to do. The biggest feature, however, is the 3rd axis- Meaning you can twist the stick, (like twisting off a cap motion) which acts like a rudder. Imagine that! A rudder- on the stick! Ok, I can almost hear the yeaahhh.....so? coming from the people who play stuff like motocross madness. But for someone who plays flight sims (or might in the future) its a great feature. The rudder is an important part of a planes controls (picture playing quake without strafing) and the sidewinder lets you use the rudder without having to use the keyboard. (which is great, because you can control it in degrees. A little rudder, a lot of rudder...)
So bottom line, I recommend it. Even if you're not going to play flight sims, the stick is pretty well made, and mines held up really well without showing any signs of wear.
