LifeCam software doesn't work

Pros: The webcam itself will work with OTHER software, and the quality is good.

Cons: The LifeCam application software that comes with the webcam just does not work.

I downloaded the latest Vista compatible version of the LifeCam software V1.4, installed it per instructions.
When I was finished, the software was unable to start the camera. I receive "Initialization error". I have uninstalled and reinstalled this many times.

I normally am pro Microsoft. But this is the worst product I have bought ever.
