Poor Build Quality

Right out of the box, this was a nice looking unit; unfortunately, I powered it up and the first thing I tried to do was set the time....the Time Set button didn't work. The Alarm 1 Set button worked fine but the Alarm 2 Set button didn't work either (I was careful to ensure the power was off as the manual states). Good thing it was close to midnight so I power cycled the thing at the stroke of 12 to get the time right. I docked my Nano and the sound was impressive; I didn't crank it or anything but at 4 or 5 bars volume, it was clean and crisp. Unfortunately, FM reception was so-so and AM reception was brutal, even with the antenna fully extended (my other clock radio, DreamMachine, is way better in this department). I was also disappointed in the display; chunky low-res digits didn't strike me as being very appealing. Regardless, I wanted a sleek machine to wake me up to my iPod; not being overly concerned about the display and radio reception, I figured I'd simply return it the next day for one with working buttons. But as things got quiet for the evening, I could make out a high pitch squealing noise; after some searching around, I discovered it was coming from the iWake's power adapter. I wasn't even comfortable leaving it plugged in for the night. The plan to return it was solidified but I changed my mind about getting another one to replace it.
