Author's Review

I was really excited to get this scope for christmas, i unboxed it and assembly was childs play needing only a screw driver, out onto the patio i went and excitedly focused up on the moon, yes it was sharp but oh my....the bright yellow halo around the edge of the moon was horrendous, no matter i thought as i swung it around to the orion nebular, yes it was there and sharp as long as i kept it in the middle of the field of view, as soon as i let it drift to the edge of the frame it flared out with all colours of the rainbow as did any star i looked at, i read the instruction manual which told me that the instrument was calibrated at the factory so i didn't bother to try to adjust anything (colomate) i returned it to the store the next day. i can't comment on the computer side as i didn't use the go-to section, never even put battery's in it....incidently it takes 8 'AAs' at a time.
