Save your money - Maytag doesn't care!

After 23 years with our old Litton stove we decided to upgrade the look of our kitchen. As usual,agreeing on anything was challenging until we saw the Maytag MER5765RAB. It is a good looking unit and that will be last good thing that you hear from me.
At 1.5 years old, the handle pulled right off of the oven door. The handle has threaded brass inserts glued into it and screws come through the inside of the door. Additionally, the seal on the oven door glass is blown and filled with condensation.
When we called Maytag, they basically told us "tough luck", you're on your own. The woman from Maytag had the nerve to tell us that all ranges have the door glass problem and that you just have to remove 4 screws and clean it. What a crock!
Maytag has always been offered as a premium product and you do pay for the "privilege" of owning one. I have had many products that failed after the warranty period and yet the manufacturer stepped up and made it right. Not so with Maytag. The customer service was rude and surly and obviously unconcerned with whatever our problem was.
No wonder American manufacturing is disappearing at an alarming rate. poor design and customer service will do it every time.


No more Maytag for me. Save your money and buy a George Foreman grill.
