This dishwasher is QUIET

We set out to buy a new dishwasher with our biggest criteria being something quieter than our extremely noisy Maytag and when we first started shopping I would have never figured I'd end up with another Maytag. We have a Kitchenaid Optima speedcook microwave and have been very happy with it so first looked at kitchenaid but after reading some of the reviews on this site were a bit leery. We looked at many different brands but chose this model for the adjustable racks, toprack can move up and down to accommodate tall items, the flip down tines and multiple configurations inside and the snap apart utensil holders which allow you to put them in many places. The 3 arm jets versus 2 arms in most machines really get the dishes clean, but most of all it is so quiet! 48 db is advertised, when we first ran it (normal wash) the refrigerator completely drowned it out even when it was emptying the water, which was always very noisy in our old machine. Clips for plastic items is another nice feature and the many options for sanitizing, heavy duty cleaning (which I have yet to use) as well as the delay feature are all great. lastly the clean sleek look is just what we were looking for and it it a great match to the microwave.
