~~UPDATE IN FEB~~
My dishwasher is not working currently. Once again, just like my luck with vacuums, tvs, toasters, cameras, lamps, remote control toys and phones, I am without a dishwasher once again and have resorted to paper products until my hubby has the time to search out the problem seeing as I am not handy at all. Please bear that in mind as you read this review. There are flaws! I will let you know the verdict! ~~End of Update~~
If there is anything that I hate doing in this world, it is dishes. I am not sure if it is the chapped hands, the yucky stuck on food, or the monotony of it all. I myself, do not mind using paper plates, plastic utensil wear and cups. But thanks to my Maytag MDB7601A Free-Standing Dishwasher all that I have to do is rinse, set and program the touchpad and my job is done!! We bought this when our built-in dishwasher gave in and stopped working. It would cost almost as much to repair, so we decided since we were remodeling the kitchen soon anyway, we might as well get a free-standing model that would not be in the way of the design we were choosing. This Jetclean has a very tall, deep tub that holds your largest cooking pots and pans, and up to 15 place settings!
It is very easy to turn on and get things splashing. This system has a cleaning performance that is so powerful that you do not have to ever worry about your dishes coming out with food still glued on. You can activate the Tough Scrub as one of your twelve cleaning options. The Duraguard racks protect all of your dishes while it cleans. To turn it on, it is a simple touch pad rather than clunky knobs. It is very attractive, and easy to select the cycles. This is qualified by Energy Star to be one of the quietest dishwashers around. You don't ever have to worry about scratches on your finer wear, as the tines that scrub your dishes are balltip and gently powerful. If you have extra large items you can remove the upper rack to make more cleaning space. You can also have the option of adjusting your upper rack to fit your needs. I also thought a very handy feature that I have never seen in a dishwasher before is cup clips that hold your lightweight plastic items, such as baby forks and spoons, or bottles, sippy cups that might normally tumble inside or not fit properly. They can also hold down utensils. The tines are foldable and adjustable to fit bowls that sometimes turn and fill up with water so that they stay put once the cycle starts. If you didn't think that was enough, there are three wash arms and five wash cycles to get the hardest caked on food you may have.
It is easy to load, holds alot of dishes, and easy to remove items. The door is light to open and is not stubborn to close the way our previous model wash. It dries the dishes very quickly as well, within the half hour of washing. You would probably, depending on the size of your family, only have to use this twice a week with the storage it provides! It doesn't use alot of water or power, so it saves on your energy bills!
I have to say, this is the easiest to use, the fastest cleaning, most energy effeicent dishwasher I have ever had!
