The Bottom Line: Maybe the kinks are not out of it yet, next years model should be better.
I love the concept of this dryer. The bottom dryer is a large 7.0 cu. ft stainless steel tub dryer that can be used at the same time or separately from the top drawer cabinet that is 17.3 cu. ft compartment. I need the upper cabinet for drying the many things that I don't put in the regular dryer, it has a hanging closet with places for 9 hangers. It only comes with 3 large hangers, these are heavy duty hangers designed to not give you those bumps that you get on the shoulders of your shirts from regular hanger. I would have liked to have a couple of more of these sent with the unit. This hanging cabinet uses a lower heat setting for gentle drying to prevent shrinkage and reduces the wrinkles by gently shaking them back and forth. It does take about 3 hours to dry a rack of shirts but that is compared to the overnight drying it would normally take on my clothesline. There is an touch pad on the front of the cabinet that is easy to read, there are separate controls for the top and bottom drying areas. You can control the time or it gives an automatic time when you start it. You put in load size and you have the option to dry wet clothes or just refresh dry clothes. Refresh mode is for removing odors, adding fragrance (using a dryer sheet put in a holder on the front of the machine) or removing wrinkles. The machine will put in an automatic time depending on your option choice or you may adjust as well. This is a nice feature for refreshing a suit or dress that dry clean only. I have used this for a suit to remove wrinkles and it did do a nice job. You may also add moisture for extra wrinkle removing by putting water in a water bottle that is also located in the front small compartment along with the dryer sheet holder. You may put up to 17 lbs of clothes on the hanging rod. Also in this cabinet you have 5 mesh shelves that can be stored on the side of the cabinet when not in use. These removable shelves can hold up to 5 lbs of clothes for gentle drying like sweaters, slacks, blankets or anything that would not tolerate a high temperature drying or the tumbling of the lower cabinet. You have a low and extra low temperature setting in this top cabinet as well. This also keeps your laundry room neat, I use to hang many of my more delicate clothes on a line in my laundry room. This upper cabinet was the main reason I purchased this model. Both compartments are well lite and are easy to replace bulbs The bottom dryer dries very quickly because of its large 7.0 cu. ft size and easily holds my king size quilt. The lint trap is right in front with easy access. There are 4 cycles: sensor dry, time dry, wrinkle release and air fluff. There are 4 temperatures and 4 dryness levels from damp dry to very dry. Very easy to use touch pad. You also have a wrinkle prevent that has a with 20 continuous tumble mixed with a 75 minute intermittent tumble followed by a room temperature cycle. I find that I have fewer wrinkles with the regular cycles with this dryer because of the nice large tub, the clothes don't bunch up as much as my previous dryers. There is no load size setting but it does not need that, the sensor dry does that for you nicely. It does a good job of sensing when your load is dry based on the dryness level that you set. There is also a damp dry signal that may be used for when you want your clothes taken out before they are totally dry. So you have an adequate number of settings. There is also the ability to pause a cycle to add clothes or take out clothes during the drying cycle. There is also a estimated time display telling you how much time remaining in the cycle. Also an indicator light telling you cycle status. The volume of the dryer signal is also adjustable. So there are many nice features to this dryer and it does dry faster and more effectively then any other dryer I have had. And I do love the upper drying cabinet for my delicates and hanging clothes. The first dryer that I received had a loud dry bearing sound when it was on, so a repairman came out to look at it and he said that the drum was rubbing on the side of the housing but he did not know why that was happening. It was less then 30 days old so the company that I purchased it from replaced the unit. Now when I use the upper cabinet the rod that swings back and forth in the drying cabinet seems to be hitting the outside wall and making a banging noise, so I will have to call out the repairman again. So not really sure if I like the unit yet or not. But I do like the size of it and the concept of the drying cabinet above just not so sure the kinks are out of this model yet. And it is very big you need a very large laundry room for this product. It is 33.5 in. in width, 29 in. deep and 74 in. high. And you need room to open the top cabinet swing doors. I am going to keep this dryer I like it very much. When I get the kink out of the upper drying cabinet I believe I am going to enjoy this dryer for many years. So I would suggest many to wait until next years model when they will have all the kinks worked out. But if you do have many loads of laundry a week like I do this is a great capacity dryer to have. I do about 10 - 12 loads a week and I have a large load washer that would hold double the capacity of my old dryer. I don't have that problem any longer. So to me the price was worth the extra time I don't have to spend drying my clothes.
