Not a bad little washer

I purchased this pair for space reasons also, and my initial concern was that I'd have to use smaller loads. Much to my surprise, I could fit almost as much in it as my previous large washer. In fact, with both the washer and dryer, if I just throw in one thing, I sometimes have to restart it - apparently it thinks it's empty. The manual says you can fill the drum full, just don't "stuff" it. Like some of the other reviewers said, it does do some strange things and make some weird noises, but I don't have any problem with getting the clothes clean, as others have mentioned. Nor, do I have any leaks. There one one time that water spilled on the floor through the detergent tray, but it turned out that was from mice who carried dog food and stored it in the tube below the tray. A little dis-assembly and a mouse trap fixed that problem. Other than that, I am very happy with how it cleans, and the high speed spin leaves the clothes very dry. I don't sit and wait for it to finish, so the longer cycle time isn't an issue for me.

UPDATE: I've gotten many comments on this review asking about features/cycles/etc for this machine. Please visit the Maytag website for that info - I'm just giving my opinion on the machine, sorry, I'm not a salesman.
