Author's Review
Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic was a fresh way to come back into the Star Wars universe. The storyline can immerse the player greatly, forcing one to complete the entire game within 10 hours (just an estimate [no resource of actual gameplay time]). Knights of the Old Republic is great for those who are hardcore Star Wars fans, or even RPG veterans.
At times, though, in certain parts of the game, I've forgotten that I was playing a Star Wars game, and not just an "every day RPG". However, those parts are the only parts that ever drag on, and after those sequences, the story picks up quite a bit there. There are many interesting twists. Knights of the Old Republic holds the essence of Star Wars very effectively; variety of colored lightsabers, different saber sizes, various blaster types, several different armor classes, variations of robes, potent Force powers-- everything you would expect to be able to customize your character to make it a true role-playing game.
Graphics are surprisingly good, with or without a high-end graphics card. Gameplay is smooth. Bioware has created a successful Star Wars role-playing game for any age; it could even attract non-Star Wars fans.
