So-So Printer, EXPENSIVE Cartridges
Pros:
Low initial cost, ease of installation, scanner speed, functionality of the fax machine
Cons:
The insanely expensive replacement ink cartridges, no Linux driver support, occasional paper feed problems
The Bottom Line:
If you use Windows, and want an average machine, this printer is for you. Due to the lack of Linux support, I can't recommend this printer.

I purchased this printer because it was on sale. . .I had been pleased with a Z23 that I received for free with a computer purchase a couple years ago, and I was in the market for an All in One machine. The price was right (under 150.00), so I picked it up.
The installation was a snap. I had no problem installing it on my computer, and no problem getting my other computer on my network to recognize it. I was able to send print commands over my network, and the Lexmark took care of them without a problem.
The print quality is pretty good, as long as youre not looking for photographic quality. I use mine for work, mostly printing reports, customer proposals, and text-based documents. If my printing was very graphics intensive, I would not be happy with this printer at all.
The paper feed does jam if you put too much paper in it. I can only fill mine about halfway, before I have problems. I also occasionally have issues with the paper being fed in crooked, which causes my print jobs to look a little cockeyed.
The scanner works very well, and reasonably quickly as well. Ive never had an issue with the fax machine. It works, nothing great, nothing terrible, its there.
My biggest complaint with this machine is the cost of the print cartridges. It uses a black, and a three-in-one color cartridge. My local Office Max sells the 2 pack of these cartridges for 65.00! A comparable HP two-pack is 40.00. Over the life of the printer, youll spend FAR more in ink than you ever did on the machine.
All in all, the Lexmark is an okay machine. I recently switched to Ubuntu Linux as my primary OS at home, and Lexmark does NOT support Linux in any way, so I just replaced my Lexmark with an HP printer. If not for the OS switch, I would have kept using my Lexmark until I drove it into the ground.
