Lexmark 6170c is good all-in-one machine

The layout of the Lexmark 6170c is well done, although a little on the large side. Paper handling is great, with a multi-page feed as well as flatbed just like the large copiers at Kinko's. A great plus is the ability to scan multiple pages to Adobe Acrobat and save them for e-mailing or printing later.

An inkjet fax prints much better than the cheap ribbon types. This printer is slow compared to lasers, but for multiple copies I just save as a .PDF file and print from my laser instead of the Lexmark!

The included OCR software works very well. Scanning for most business uses is good; although I wouldn't recommend it for any serious photo work as a scanner or printer.

All in all it seems well made, handles paper well, and has excellent software bundled with it. The printer functions are OK, and the scanner is good, but not good enough for serious photo work.

I use it in addition to a high quality color laser printer and photo scanner - it works well as a business copier and fax....I would hartily recommend it to anyone.
