DONT BUY LG!!!! YOU"LL REGRET IT

We had our "high end" LG dishwasher catch on fire and my son was the only one home. He came home from school, smelled smoke and opened the door to flames shooting out of the dishwasher! Fortunately he was unhurt because he used his head and quickly closed the door. The fire department told us they had also had same issue with their LG unit. This happened a few days before Xmas 2008and we moved quickly to replace the dishwasher with another brand. We did this because of the absolutely deplorable customer service we received. WE WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER LG PRODUCT!! I have an extensive Customer Service background with a Fortune 500 company. Never have I experienced the level of indifference, lack of training, inconvenience to the customer....you name it and they failed miserably. The overall attitiude is "we do not care"!!! Only after I told them I had seen many blogs where others had this experience and that I KNEW this was recalled did they bother to extend me any shred of attention. They were very slow to respond, and I had to call today to find out I will not receive my check (they had not even cut the reimbursement check) untill May 8th, which is 3 and a half months from the time I reported the incident, and 2 months from it's resolution. When I called to see where my check was, I was very polite as I have been throughout this experience. I was met with a cold indifference, no apology.Three days later had not received an answer from the risk management person that I had called and who handled my claim. When I called back today she made no apology, said that it is not her responsiblilty as to when accounts payable sends checks. I was on hold for 20 minutes before I even got that answer. It was unbelievable!
