Solid Camera from Fuji

This is my first camera from Fuji and I'm not disappointed, but I'm not drooling either.
The color in the pictures is great, I have nothing bad to say there.
The color noise is better than I've seen in most cameras, but I won't be happy until manufacturers get rid of it completely. I have to give Fuji credit. For having a 12 megapixel sensor, they've done a really good job of keeping the noise low on indoor shots. On outdoor shots, I can't find color noise at all.
Fuji has the F100fd do a two pass noise reduction process on pictures. I notice that at higher ISO settings, you can really notice the processing. The good part is that since you're shooting at 12 megapixels, you shouldn't notice it when you print these pictures out.
Besides, image noise my send biggest gripe about digital camera in general is that they tend to be very vulnerable to image blur, at least in my shaky hands. The F100fd does a wonderful job with this. My aunt is still trying to get me to delete the picture I snapped on the fly that brings out every wrinkle she has.
Face Detection, in my experience so far, has not worked as advertised. It's picky about picking up faces. For a system that brags about being able to detect faces at almost any angle, it's had a hard time detecting them straight ahead. I'm holding judgement until I have had more time to play with the camera though.
The most annoying part of this camera is its menu system. It is not the worst I've seen, but it is light years from the best. I'm not the only person to have this gripe and you can find similar gripes from anyone who reviews a Fuji camera. It's not bad enough to keep me from buying a Fuji, but you're going to need to spend some quality time with the camera before you need to use it so you don't lose the shot you wanted while you try and find the setting you needed to change.
