Author's Review
I bought the Konica Minolta Magicolor 2430DL at Best Buy for my business. The printer boasts many advanced features including duplex printing, network capability, expandable tray options, and duplex printing. The later two mentioned features require an investment in optional hardware.
The printer warms relatively quickly, and makes a bit of noise doing so. For some reason, regardless of which electrical outlet it's plugged in to, when operating it causes other devices (lights, monitors, etc.) to "flicker." Not sure where that comes from, but it stops once the printer goes back into Energy Savings mode.
Print quality is nothing to jump up and down about, but very good for everyday general use. Largely detailed documents can take a bit of time to print, perhaps upgrading the printers memory can help this.
I've had an ongoing problem, as have SEVERAL other owners, with the printer giving a false error message: MEDIA JAM - TRAY 1. The only resolution I have to minimize this problem is to use thinner paper. High mil paper seems to be too much for it to handle. If one plans to use this printer largely for printing photos on photo paper, I encourage making a different selection. The problem seems to be evident on other MagiColor models as well: Caveat Emptor.
