Not so tough
Pros:
Non-toxic tennis ball style toy, tolerable squeak, fun while it lasted
Cons:
Not for the strong jawed dog
The Bottom Line:
Not up to Kong's usual durability standards. For the strong dog, little pieces can be ingested, so were glad it's non-toxic! Good time for a couple weeks.

Author's Review
Our beloved Xena is 65 pounds, kind of pushy (typical...she's a former jail bird...a pound puppy), strong as an ox and absorbently bright! She is playful and totally wild about squeaker toys, but with an unusually large mouth, we have been concerned about the size of her toys since bringing her home (we're pretty sure she could swallow a regulation tennis ball in one gulp).
Having DESTROYED a variety of pet products: An extra large tennis ball, an "indestructible" crate mat, rubber Aquapods and nylabones galor (she is even gnawing down a Galileo bone). We need tough toys!
Kong products are very popular in our house and tend to weather well through the "warrior princess's" playtime, so we were thrilled to receive a Kong Squeaker football for Christmas. We thought this was going to be the perfect fetch toy - it was Kong, it was covered in tennis fluff, it was a non-swallowable size and it squeaked...OH THE JOY!
After roughly two weeks, our dog had that football tore into tiny pieces! It easily stopped squeaking at day 2. I didn't find anything in the remains that caused me to believe this was anything more than an extra thick tennis ball which was very disappointing. I am also happy the product proclaims being non-toxic since I'm sure Xena ate some of the fuzzy pieces.
I would generally sing the praises of Kong...especially for their puppy puzzle prowess, but this one just wasn't up to the company's usual standard. For an average tough dog, this is probably a great toy, but for the insanely strong jaws of our lab/pit mix there was no competition.
