Kodak - Your one in a million: Poor customer service
Date of Review: Feb 25, 2007
The Bottom Line: I wouldn't buy this camera again or any other from Kodak based on my customer service experience with them.
What an experience! This camera takes good pictures but it does like to lock up and appear to have a dead battery only to start again after several attempts of turning it on and off. The fun really started when the battery compartment door started to crack and eventually fell apart. We had purchased an extended warranty from Office Depot so we called to have it fixed and they said to contact Kodak and that they had seen this problem before. So we call Kodak and send it in for repair but then they refuse to fix it claiming it was damaged by us. So it was $80 to fix it or $43 just to get our camera back ($35 inspection fee and $13 shipping). No one said anything about this before we sent it in. When my wife called Kodak and threatened that if they didn't do anything about it we would never buy a Kodak product again, they simply responded "We have millions of customers, you are only one of them." We paid to get our camera back without being repaired and then went to Office Depot. Office Depot was awesome, they took the camera back, allowed us to exchange it for a Canon which was $40 more and gave us a new service contract. I would highly recommend Office Depot but we will never buy a Kodak again!
