The Bottom Line: Avoid this model and be wary of KitchenAid ranges in general.
We've already gone through 2 of these, brand new units in 1 month. The first had a serious computer problem that would not allow the oven to be turned off (we had to switch off the circuit breakers in our house to shut it down). We had a replacement stove delivered to us a couple weeks later. On this one, the cooling fan was running 24/7 from the moment we installed it. There was no way to shut it off except to switch the circuit breaker the range is hooked up to. So, after 2 weeks of waiting, a technician arrived at our house an diagnosed the issue. Repairs would require parts which took another 3 weeks to arrive. Tech was back and fixed the issue. Less than a month later while running the self-cleaning mode the oven made some very bizarre sounds (popping and cracking noises) and completely shut off with the oven door locked. Now the oven has no power and we can't open the door. Our patience had come to an end with this model and we called Sears and asked them to come and pick up the range and take it far, far away. Luckily, we purchased the 5 year warranty from Sears allowing us to exchange the range for another brand, which we did.
My wife and I cannot believe that we had two lemons in a row. With KitchenAid we expected a lot more. It has been a complete hassle dealing with customer support and we will never buy another KitchenAid product again.
