Very quiet, does an okay job of cleaning

Maybe I had my expectations set too high. We'd had what was (in it's day) a high end Whirlpool for about 13 years that did an ok job as long as we pre-rinsed the dishes before loading them into the dishwasher. I guess I had the mistaken thought that by spending about $1,000 on a new high-end dishwasher that the days of pre-rinsing would be over, NOT! I honestly do not believe this Kitchen aid does any better job than the old Whirlpool. As long as the dishes are rinsed it does a good job.

It is VERY QUIET. I have actually put my ear up to it's exterior to hear if it's running. The new tall tub definitely increases the capacity but I don't think much of all the adjustable racks, loading still seems awkward.

One more feature that I'm not that fond of after using the unit is the hidden controls, you can't tell what it's doing. A couple of times I thought I'd started it only to come back later to find it had not started. This does speak to how quiet it is. At this point I'd rather go back to a unit that has at least some indicator lights on the face so you know what it's doing.
