Best Sandals Out There, Period

I kept seeing Keens everywhere, but I loved my Birkenstock Arizonas. I still do. Talked to a friend who had a pair of Keens and he loved his.

Another friend was looking for a pair of Keens herself and she had been eyeing my Sketcher sandals--which mimic the Keen style. [My Sketchers are nice, reasonably comfortable, but mostly inexpensive.] That friend wound up buying a used pair of Keens on eBay, and she loves her Keens.

I finally tried on a pair of Keen Newport H2s, and I was sold right away. I bought mine in the spring, and I wore them all day probably on average at least 6 days out of 7 from about April to early October. Even though the winter temperature around here falls into the 30s and even 20s sometimes, I will still wear my Keens at times if we are going to the grocery store or the mall.

I walk in them, I work in them, I commute in them, I drive in them, and I bike in them. We went on vacation with family in July down the Washington, Oregon and California coast. I think I brought along a pair of sneakers as well, but I wore my Keens the whole time.

After getting my Keens completely filthy dirty, I tossed both the wife’s and mine in the washing machine. She also loves her Keens and rarely wears her Birks anymore. They cleaned up easily and came out looking almost new.

If I could ever get into the whole socks with sandals thing that so many here in the Pacific Northwest do, I think I'd probably get a pair of Gore-Tex socks for cold, wet days and wear my Keens year round every day.
