Sd card adapter to Compact Flash.
Date of Review: May 1, 2008
The Bottom Line: Pricey $30. It gives U more options for using SD in places compactflash would fit. Or get the Jobo allinone reader "secf17" or normal cardreader if you have usb2.0.
The card adapter works well and is well built. It's plug and play no problems.
The SD card slides into the side of the CF adapter. The SD card fits flush into the CF adapter so you can slip the CF adapter into other devices like a camera and other card readers.
Transfer and read rates are the same as would be when using the SD card directly!
My situation:
I use an older Mac Ibook Dual 1.0 USB notebook. I've invested into my Ibook and it still works well. I need to bypass the slow usb with a firewire reader. I used the Sandisk Extreme firewire reader sddrx4-cf. Sadly it only takes compact flash cards. I use Sd-mini, SD, and CF cards daily so I needed an option to transfer pictures quickly to my computer.
The Jobo adapter worked very well for me! My friends are still stunned with the rate i can transfer info bidirectional while watching video coming of the same card over the firewire. CooooL!
Next is the Jobo CF all in one card reader I hope it fits into my Firewire Sandisk reader. :)
The bad: It is 1/2mm to thick to fit into my Canon a95 but fits my other Compact Flash devices well! Wish I had gotten 2 years ago! It is a little pricey at $30 USA.
