I confess, this is a good movie...

This is not standard Hitchcock filming, but it is a gem. Not very many people have seen it, but the ones I have recommend this movie to, loved it. One such person has worked at a movie theatre for over 6 years and has seen a heckuva lot of flims! By the way, if you are looking for A. Hitchcock in this one, its in the first few minutes of the film -- he's walking across a bridge or something!

Anyway, the plot is good. I mean, c'mon it was the 1950's! By this I mean, it is plausible and suspenseful. I was impressed when I saw it. I had expected some boring old nonsense. The accused priest is a great stoic as he faces charges in a courtroom. The few rectory scenes are cute and enjoyable, and the love interest is not a silly airhead (e.g. like most of the love interests in the Elvis movies.)

The special effects in the courtroom are marvelous. Well, they aren't "special effects" per se, but unique shots of props etcetera to get the theme of the drama across.
