Expensive yet Effective
Date of Review: Mar 27, 2004
The Bottom Line: An excellent, if expensive vacuum cleaner. I would recommend it if you suffer from allergies and need the HEPA filter, and are willing to pay a high price for it
I bought this hoover as a replacement for my very old bag hoover, which I got sick and tired of cleaning out. The bagless design of this is just excellent, along with all of the features which it has;
Variable speeds which are operated by your fingertips on the handle.
- This is very easy to use and Helpful for hoovering if you have various different surfaces throughout your house, such as wood and carpet, as you may want to hoover up any noticable dirt with a high speed, thus more sucking power, than you use on the rest of the carpet, to save excessive wear. However, I could easily live without it
Quiet Operation.
- This is another nice touch. It means that you can easily have the TV or radio on in the background and not have to worry about turning it up really loud to hear it.
22' cord.
- I found this to be a bit short as it is annoying to constantly have to change outlets as you hoover up different areas. An extension cord can of course be used, but that adds more hassle
Bagless canister system.
- Great, this was the main reason I bought this and it is so much easier to clean than a bag system. However, this is offered on almost all new vacuum cleaners. It is easy to clean even compared current bagless ones, though the HEPA filter does take some time to clean well.
15" cleaning path width.
- Nice and big for open spaces, but I found it to be a bit big for corners and various other nooks and cranies. Luckily...
Attachments.
- Such as a floor brush help to get you into hard to reach spaces.
HEPA filter.
- Another nice touch for those who suffer from allegies, this helps to clean allegens from your floors. It can be washed out in order to clean it.
Through general usage I have found this to be an excellent vacuum cleaner for my relativly small home. It has a great cleaning power is quiet and managed to clean my carpets and hardwood floors with ease. However, the power cord is a bit short and the price which I paid $350, is in retrospect quite expensive, though you are paying for the features such as the HEPA filter. The weight of 27 pounds could be too much for some to carry up stairs, but living in a 1 story home, it is fine for me. Thus I would recommend this vacuum to you if you have need the HEPA filter, or want a change, but it may be too expensive for many.
