No More Messy Mop Needed
Date of Review: Oct 8, 2008
The Bottom Line: This wet vac is easy to use and works great on sealed flooring, but if using on tile will need something more for grout and crevices.
I hate mopping I will admit it. Anything to make my least favorite household chore quicker and easier is a plus with me. I have had a wet vac before, but after seven years and three moves it had pretty much had it. It was time to go looking for a new one.
The Hoover H2850 sounded like just what I needed. There was no assembly required and ready to use. Has medium bristles so good for tile floor or sealed hard wood floors as well. The fifteen foot cord is nice for the kitchen and I only have to re-position the wet vac once for my living room and dining room area that is sealed hard wood. It is easy to use with the trigger nozzle being on the handle and the on/off switch is on the side of the unit.
The water dispenser is small and has to be refilled numerous times for even a small room. The dirty water tank does not have to be emptied out as often. The bristles are between a medium and hard unfortunately only seems to graze over the tile surface. The floors are getting semi clean. The grout and crevices in the tiles are not getting scrubbed clean like they should be. It is like the brushes are set up to high. The other thing is that this is the loudest wet vac I have ever used.
This does a good job of cleaning sealed wood floors, but I do have to go back over them to get all of the water. Not much is left, but there are small streaks left other wise. On the other hand this only does a half way job on tiles. The bristles on the brushes doe not get into the grout on the tile like it should to get a deep down clean.
I give this a three overall.Since the brushes do not get deep down clean like they should and you have to refill the dispenser numerous times to clean the floors.
