The Best In French Filtered Disco House

by   soundmurderer ,   Dec 22, 1999

Pros:  extremely well done house LP that appeals to more than just the dance music crowd

Cons:  it doesn't contain a lot of their great tracks available only on vinyl 12"

Overall Rating: 5/5 stars

Author's Review

This is the best CD you can buy as an excellent example of French house music using many filters and influenced heavily by disco.
I've known many people that have different musical tastes that can really get into this album. Each track has catchy loops that filter in and out very nicely (not widely done when this album was released) and they all have good grooves that you can get into. Thomas Bangalter (also known as Stardust and had the huge hit 'Music Sounds Better With You') and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo make the perfect pair and if you enjoy this LP try to find any releases on Thomas' label, Roule or Guy's label, Crydamoure.
Untarnished by the commercial record industry (this record was made independently in Paris, in fact, the cover design for the CD cost more than it did to record the record), this is a record that breaks the barriers with the pop/rock crowd (much as the Chemical Brothers did) using
songs that you can't help but dig.
