Intelligent Music
Pros:
Good for any occasion, it's really well done, trippy (if you want to), intelligent music, nice sequence of tracks, the CD tracks make single thing, unique
Cons:
Not every song is danceable, takes a while until you love it, tracks are not as great by their selves

Author's Review
I became to know Daft Punk after listening to their Around the World (http://www.uuuu.org/daftpunk/aworld.rm) song. I thought this would probably be Daft Punks only great song. I was awfully mistaken. (Try to notice the music behind the lyrics; you will notice a disco influence in this track). I did not know whether it would be worth to buy the CD or not, just because of that special track. After listening to Rollin & Scratchin I had no doubt I really wanted the CD.
I was completely amazed of how creative Daft Punk was in EVERY track after listening to the full CD. I just love every song in Homework. All the songs are very different, and in my opinion follow different styles. The one thing I can notice in every song (specially Rockn Roll (http://www.uuuu.org/daftpunk/rockroll.ra) is the great variety of noises being added gradually to the music (a resource which that is more used in Trance music usually)(I really love when it gets to that stress climax!). The noises fit so perfectly to the music that it seems like all this noises were very carefully picked through a research process, with some very hi-tech apparatus.
If I had to classify Daft Punks Homework in a standard music category I would say it fits better to house music. I do not like to classify it because some people do not like house music, and this CD is suitable for many music tastes. So even if you are not a house music fan (actually, I am not) but just like intelligent and unique music.
It is hard to compare Daft Punks Homework with other artists because the reason why I like them so much is not being like anyone else. However I will make an exception for epinions' user (hahahah). I think Air, and Chemical Brothers sound a bit like Daft Punk. Another artist I like because of that same reason (even tough his music does not sound anything like Daft Punks) is Brian Eno.
I have bought the CD in the beginning of 1998, and I still listen to it all the time. I do not travel without it, and I always carry it in my car (ok, I may sound like a freak, but what I am trying to say is that is the best CD I have ever bought)
If you like electronic music and different stuff, do take some time to listen to the WHOLE CD. To have an idea of their work you can always check their website (in flash) which I think is very unique too.
TIPS:
-- My favorite track is Alive (http://www.uuuu.org/daftpunk/alive.ra) (I recorded a full tape only with Alive after Alive so I would not have to keep rewinding it)
-- Their DVD (D.A.F.T. Dogs, Androids, Firemen and Tomatoes) is great also it has got all their videos (too bad I did not find it on epinions to review it)
