This DVD camera has been good to use. I was buying for my wife for Christmas and paid around $600-650 at Circuit City. I was going to spring for the 580 model, but they were out.

PROS:
1) Low price DVD
2) Good quality
3) Very functional

CONS:
1) Low mega pix for still shots
2) With DVD you have to 'finish' recording and then format Disc to use in DVD player. Until that point you can only view in camera.
