Effective scanner.

The Bottom Line: Good scanner. It will do what you want it to. A little slow at times; but nonetheless effective.

Hardware Good For Price Point, but Bad Software

The Bottom Line: Product is now discontinued. Good for occasional use if you can get one for a very cheap price. Avoid for high usage, or large projects.
Review: I purchased the HP 3970 as a refurbished unit, although it appeared be new since it came in the original packaging (maybe overstock/clearance from HP?), a couple of years ago for an extremely low price. It replaced an ancient Plustek 9600 scanner...

don't buy hp 3970 scanner, won't work

Review: hp 3970, won't work and no support called hp talked to someone in India, after an hour and a half, the scanner still froze up my computer, she stated "leave it alone for an hour and it will resolve the problem" sure it did, also told me not to hook...

Great Scanner, if you can get the light bar to turn on

Died before warranty up - Tech support sucks
