Author's Review
I remember the days when all my friends would come over to my house for a "Risk Marathon". We would play and battle all day long, and quite often into the early morning. We even invented a technique called the "sweep". That's where you wipe a player off the board, get his cards (hoping it would put you over the 5 card limit) and continue going until the game is over. It was a blast!
As we grew up and moved on, there were other games, but none that had that appeal. I tried early versions written for the 386 PC, but it was just a text game, that seemed to go on forever. It was a far cry from the board game that I had spent so many hours playing.
Now there is a new version for the computer. You can play it against the computer, online, or networked to other computers.
This new version is probably even better than the original, even though it lacks the nostalgia. You have many more options, and you can enable the game to do things like create freak storms which wreak havoc on all the forces in it's path. It makes the game more challenging, to say the least.
I recommend this game to all who enjoy strategy/war games, and anybody seeking a good clean game, that isn't vulgar or bloody.
