Better than Nevermind: better than most bands third album
Pros:
Youth Energy, Great Songs, Great Music, Best Debut I've Heard since Hendrix
Cons:
Song Writing does occasionally slip into showy instrumental prowess: lyrics are VERY weak: corgans singing isnt' the best

Author's Review
This is one of the most amazing debuts of all time. It almost matches Are you Exprienced By Jimi Hendrix Experience (and sharing similar covers). The youth energy, and obvious technical talent make this a rush. Chamberlain's drumming is great, but would only get better through the years. Corgan's solos are amazing, and the abrasiveness drives it. Basslines are simple but effective ( a Pumpkins trademark), and help drive the band along with chamberlain. As is usual, Corgan writes or co-writes all songs, and sings all but Daydream, beautifully sung dy D'arcy. Best debut of the Grunge era, or almost any era. Better than Nevermind or anything else Nirvana did. Corgan made albums after this, which topped it. But this album was the spark, and showed the pumpkins potential. It's also their shortest album, which may help those with short attention spans. ALthough the lyrics are weak, the music makes up for it.
