It's not a bad dishwasher, but still...

Date of Review: Mar 27, 2008

The Bottom Line:  It is a good product, once you get used to it. If you have patience, I recommend this product.
I was looking for a stainless steel dishwasher to match my other appliances. I have had good success with the Monogram line of GE. I purchased this dishwasher for $1200.00, installed.
It is quiet, sounds a bit like a rain storm outside. You do not hear the detergent cup spring open at all. I did have to tinker with the Jet Dry a bit, but that was an easy adjustment.
Even though it has a top rated "disposal/food grinder" in it, I still need to get most of the food off of the plates and silverware before loading. A scrape with a fork will do it, except for sticky things like melted cheese, peanut butter and the like. Some silverware still will not come clean if there is too much residue left, like peanut butter in a spoon, this you have to rinse off.
The amount of dishes this machine will wash is fantastic. It has a huge capacity, and is especially great for mixing bowls and will still have room for dinner plates and such.

Once you figure out what needs to be rinsed off and what does not, the dishwasher is great. Until you reach that point, it can be frustrating, especially given the amount of money paid. j

I do recommend this dishwasher if you have the patience to learn it's subtleties.

Pros
Handy inside lights, very quiet, lots of space for bowls/dishes, ease of operation.
Cons
Some dishes need rinsing, also a bit on the pricey side.
