Fire Hazard

Date of Review: Mar 9, 2008

4 year old GE refrigerator in this product line that heated its contents to 127 degrees F before discovered. Since we had an extended warranty, we contacted GE and they showed no interest in the obvious product safety concern. We disagreed with GE's decision to repair rather than replace the unit. We decided to replace the unit rather than take the risk it would burn down our home.

GE customer service experience was dreadful. Repeated dropped calls, no recognition of safety concerns... terrible.

Anyone know of a class action suit that I can join?

Pros
I feel lucky that it did not start our home on fire.
Cons
Obvious product safety concerns as refrigerators are not designed to accommodate high temperatures.
