The Bottom Line: Gr8 scanner; it is simple to set up & use. Start scanning & getting rid of paper in 10 minutes. I have already recommended to friends.
Great scanner for $269 after $100 rebate thru 6.30.07
Use of this product is quite simply simple. I bought this scanner for use in my tax, accounting and law practice - lots of paper.
We get lots of mail related to client matters. I scan this mail, email a copy of it to client and send the originals to the client via snail mail retaining a scanned copy for my file. Clients really like getting a status update (via the scanned/emailed mail) the same day as mail related to their matter arrives.
I like the simplicity of this product and the small size. It is approximately the size of a loaf of bread - no kidding. Additionally, as Apple says 'it just works'.

The scanner comes with Adobe Acrobat 7.0 included. The scanner doesn't scan to OCR, at least to my knowledge. However, for $269 I wouldn't expect OCR scanning. The 50 page capacity document feeder is nice. If you have more than 50 pages then it's quite easy to scan in two or more batches and then use Acrobat's 'add pages' feature to make one file.
Four modes of scanning quality: 150dpi, 200dpi, 300dpi and 600dpi. Color as well as black and white scanning.
Comes with the USB cable. Installation of related software on CDs took less than 10 minutes to up and running.
