Fortune: The Bible for CEO's

The Bottom Line: Fortune magazine is ok, but much of what you read about deals with corporate CEO success and is unrealistic for the average person.
Review: Financial magazines are among my favorite types of periodicals. Given free and open choice among many types of magazines, the financial publications are the ones I reach for more than any other, a consequence of my field of expertise.

The Bottom Line: Plenty of news sources do news better. Plenty of magazines do analysis better. Skip this one.
Review: Poor Fortune. Other magazines (Business Week and The Economist) provide better analysis. Still others (Red Herring and Fast Company) do a better job on new economy issues. Even coverage for the glib investor is better addressed by Forbes and Smart...

How can I make a fortune?

The Bottom Line: If you like reading about wealthy successful people than Fortune is for you.
Review: I have purchased Fortune on and off over the last few years. It does have some useful information but largely most of what I see in it highlights those who have already made their fortune. It really doesn't say enough about how they got there.

Fortune Magazine; An Excellent Bargain
