2002 Ford Escape

Prior to purchasing the XLT I test drove the Honda CRV and the Jeep Liberty as well as several vans. I purchased the Escape because of its pleasant driving characteristics, very good sound system, comfortable seating, good acceleration, good mileage, roomy interior, moderate price and good looks. I admire the vehicle every time I look at it. I did not do that with the competition. Even though I have only owned the vehicle for about 5 days, I am confident that I will love it. By the way, the dealer was low pressure and totally customer oriented. The only thing I would change about the Escape is the amount of road noise. My other vehicles are a VW Passat and a Honda Accord and they are much quieter than the Escape. I guess I have to remember that this is a different class vehicle will have some inherent shortcomings. I know the Honda CRV was every bit as noisy as the Escape. After 6 months of ownership I will write another review. Let's hope I will not change my tune!
