The mistake of my kitchen remodel

We bought this model because of the water softener - the only other one we found was a Miele and now I wish we would have bought it even though it was more expensive.

The unit goes through salt and rinse agent very quickly - almost a box a month for salt and I have to fill the rinse agent tub every few days.  There are two of us in the household, so usually one drawer gets used each day.  Unless you prewash your dishes they won't get clean because there is no food grinder and the basket needs to be cleaned after every load.  To clean the trap, you must remove all of the racks in a drawer.  However, when the trap is clean and you run it on the heavy duty cycle, the glassware sparkles. 

Large plates don't fit even with the large plate rack. Plus it clunks and bangs as it changes cycles.  The indicator is hard to read so you don't know if the dishes are clean or dirty after it finishes.
The bottom drawer is right on the floor and if you have difficulty bending to load and unload dishes, you will not have an easy time.
