So beautiful it can be a nursery centerpiece

I can't believe my poor mom and grandma didn't have stuff like this for their babies. They could only take the baby for a walk or give her a binky, but THIS swing is LUXURY!

Fisher Price does it again with this butterfly swing. Not only are the colors absolutely beautiful (if you have a girl and don't mind the pink) but they fit in well with any nursery decor. If you're like me and want everything to match, you even buy the carseat and stroller to coordinate with the nursery. I matched the pink butterfly theme to all my bedding because it's easy to work with and not so gaudy that I can't stand to look at it for several months.

This swing stands the test of time because it's durable and well made - the feet are spread apart wide enough that it balances well, unlike other swings I've seen that "swing" right along with the swing. The seat itself is super comfortable for baby. Of course, the versatility of moving from side to side or forward and backward make it functional for even the pickiest baby. My sister has the Nature's Sounds swing, and though it's colors are more neutral and it doesn't have the netting on either side, it's very similar and her baby loves it as well. The mobile, music, and twinkle lights have kept my babies occupied up until they were 8 months and more interested in tummy time than anything else. Fortunately, I've had two girls so both have been able to use this pretty swing. My second baby was extremely colicky, but this swing was very soothing to her when not much else was. The swing settings are great even for a newborn - you can set it so that it barely moves from side to side. Of course, the bigger the babies get, the higher you have to set it. I've also used the Fisher Price Aquarium travel swing, and it was not nearly as powerful as this swing when trying to move an 18 lb baby.

The only thing I don't like about this swing is its use of batteries. We seem to go through a full set at least once a month. Granted, I use it every single day for a few hours, so I'm not complaining since it's been worth it. The netting might also be bothersome to some babies. I like that it helps my baby feel enclosed and secure, much like a bassinet. However, it is a little bit more cumbersome to remove her and place her in the swing.
